As a newsletter creator, this service is not in the spirit of the work I create.

If I wanted my content consumed in podcast form, I would make a podcast.

@ernie why worry yourself with the format if the conveying of your ideas is what matters? why not be excited at the prospect of someone taking up the mantle of making your content more accessible for you?

authors didn’t “want” to have their books read and recorded, but they realized their stories could reach more minds so they embraced audiobook technology. why not do the same?

also, why come on here to grumble about something that is so inconsequential and doesn’t harm you? most of your subscribers probably don’t read your newsletter anyway... i mean just look up newsletter read rates. like cmon now. fr?

@tothedaring audiobook creators got paid. These people aren't paying me, they're just doing.

Also, I consider format essential.

@tothedaring just to clarify to some degree, my whole approach to how I write and what I built is based around formats (as in all the numbers and lists I use in my pieces), and if I built a podcast, I would approach it differently.

For me it's never been just about the ideas—it's also about the path there, if that makes sense.

I just want the creator to have a say in what they build. That's it.

@ernie that’s fair. i see what you mean.

@tothedaring Thanks. I realize it can come off as a bit precious, but I also think it’s a realistic thing to raise concerns about right now.

To be clear, I’m not opposed to an audio form of Tedium, it’s just not as easy as putting a microphone in front of me and riffing, at least in my own head.

@ernie I 100% agree with you, but I suspect we're in the minority here.

People exhibit so much entitled ideology about this stuff, suddenly you're the bad guy for not letting them shift formats just because they want to.
