Is there an e-ink e-reader that allows custom applications to be made? Ideally has Wi-Fi as well.

@drwhax you can side-load on a Kobo (which are awesome in general), and there are websites devoted to hacking it

But then if you just want something that's very easy to develop for, Jason Snell does some great e-reader reviews and here is the first one which pops to mind for your use-case since it's just an e-ink android phone without the phone
