@adam This is a great post, and i think it aligns with my views as well. I think de-federating from a platform just because there are a few bad actors is perpetuating the behavior that drove us to mastodon to begin with. I appreciate the response, and look forward to our continued experiment with threads and omg.lol!

@optimusvulgaris @moose It is concerning, and I totally understand the valid perspectives that lean toward shunning Meta. But the question I asked in June (https://omglol.news/2023/06/28/meta-the-fediverse-and-omg-lol) is still relevant today: where does it end?

@adam @moose well, the instance rules are pretty clear. Personally I do not use any social media since 2016, this is the first attempt I make in ages. I don't like Meta as a company, but who knows, maybe it's not that bad for the ecosystem as a whole to have this new influx of users... Far as I can tell, most of their userbase (the ones engaging) are Twitter refugees (read: people escaping the toxicity of Elon's crappyverse)
