@Whiskeyomega@Aaron We won't be defederating, blocking, limiting or anything here at this time. It's always up to our users to handle things how they want until Meta does something towards our instance itself that we won't tolerate.
We firmly believe it should always be up to the users.
@cliffwade@Aaron it will be a moderation nightmare once it seriously starts rolling along with the federated timeline potentially running smaller servers past their hardware in the sidekiq queues is what I'm afraid of.

@Aaron@cliffwade got to be careful what instances you interact with some to which I call the wasteland and it's users really like to dictate how the whole fediverse is ran. Got rid of that months ago.
@Whiskeyomega@Aaron You are so absolutely right! There are definitely some bad instances. The people I dealt with today come from some of those bad places. They feel they are so damn entitled and what they say is how things are to be run and done.
@Whiskeyomega@cliffwade Oh yup. I made sure to block a certain instance that doesn’t have an agenda, if you know what I mean.
But, I run my own private instance so I’ll limit or block as needed. I’ll wait for things to actually happen before taking action instead of, you know, moral panic.

I love the internet and grew up during its infancy but man, people gotta chill.
What gets me are these idiots that will do anything and everything they can to shove their "you must defederate NOW" opinion/attitude down your throat and whatever you say that isn't what they believe is completely wrong.
I actually had to block several people today who had that very attitude. Those people are simply disgusting in my opinion.
