i just had the first phone call between iphone and mnt pocket reform. i could hear my voice, spoken into the iphone in good quality on the pocket, which i didn't expect. i was able to play back random audio files over the phone line to iphone, but they're so far mega distorted. kinda like if the bits are the wrong way around, or 8/16 bit mismatch. in any case, it was quite fascinating.
@cnx@martijnbraam phone calls don't just work with any laptop/device. it has to have a SAI/I2S/PCM... interface hooked up to the modem's digital audio lines. i've heard there are rare modems with usb audio but don't know which ones

@mntmn hello minute, this reminds me, I once talked about China Unicom support with you, and it seems that em05 supports China Unicom. I found this on the local online store, does it look like something that can be plugged into the pocket reform?
