    solarpunkgnome,

    @decryption

    Thanks for sharing!

    The first Mac I enjoyed using was a G4 iMac at a summer camp in HS, and the first Mac I owned was the first Intel iMac. I was making videos at the time, so it was a big jump from my Windows desktop.

    My current laptop is a 2010 MBP that I bought for $200 with wine damage in 2013.

    @decryption yes! I had the same experience when I got a G5 nearly 10 years later. I was blown away by the build quality. it felt like owning a ferrari

    @decryption this made me wistful for my own forum-dwelling youth. Some of my closest friends are people I met while chatting about Nintendo games on forums for years. Felt like a real sense of community.

    @decryption MacTalk was so helpful at the start of my Mac-enjoyer journey too. The forum full of helpful people, the podcast I’d religiously sync to my phone the morning it came out and listen to, it was all good stuff. So thanks for that 😀

    @decryption I should write about what it was like hanging out at a computer store when the Lisa was around and the Mac was first released, wish I had photos
