My friend doesn't believe me that when I turn on the hot tap I can hear the water turn warm/hot.

Tell me I'm not the only one that's noticed this very useful change in pitch that tells you when the water is nice and toasty?

@doctormo I absolutely hear it. On my basement utility sink, when the hot water is actually hot, I can hear the sound of the water change. I’ve always attributed it to thermal expansion in the valve changing the flow dynamics, and therefore the sounds produced by turbulent flow.
