Hmm, not seeing the "Translate" button on the Android apps. Using Megalodon and Mastodon, latest available version.

Am I missing something?

Whether translations are available in an app depends on which features the app offers. The ones you named don't seem to support translations (yet), but there are some others that do.
Check this comparison table: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1De5KRwqMIdwEryfoeBLARgxF7QgKkeOQBCilKuIdAXE/edit?pli=1#gid=0 (we found it online, so we're not sure how up to date it is though)

Sorry, mixed up different apps (there are so many 😅). Megalodon indeed has translation available and works nicely.
If you don't see the option, it's possible that the content author has the wrong language set for their post.

@Vivaldi I’m so glad this happened! I use Elk with also has translation but it isn’t great.

(Also the only theme that seems to work for me is Bird UI and that doesn't fit on my screen)

Have you considered using m2m100 or something similar (as a second option in settings)?

Vivaldi Translate has gotten some improvements recently, which we're rolling out step-by-step on Vivaldi Social and in the browser, and we keep working with Lingvanex to improve the quality of the translations.

With the current themes, it's unfortunately not possible to expand the text input field.
But perhaps @rolle (Mastodon Bird UI) and @nileane (Tangerine UI), who've made these amazing new themes accept feature requests. 😉

@Vivaldi There is a reason why Mastodon 4.2.0 compose area is not auto-expanding, it's an accessibility feature: https://github.com/ronilaukkarinen/mastodon-bird-ui?tab=readme-ov-file#can-you-change-compose-form-height-and-font-size

However, Mastodon 4.3.0 (currently on alpha, the upcoming release) redesigned the compose form and auto expand will be available there.
