@seachanger AK writer Christine Byl recently reshared this piece she wrote after her 1st book (her 2nd came out last year), in conversation w the same unease: “Conflating promotion with public sphere conversation and internalizing shame around it crushes robust artistic and critical discourse, as it makes us less likely to speak up or interact because of the fear of seeming self-promotional.”
@seachanger That's partly how my #StickersAndStamps project started. I wanted to mail hand written notes to others and walk them to the post office and physically send them out into the world.
