I've been enjoying looking through everyone's #aurora photos from last night (on various platforms). I couldn't be bothered going out, but I reckon I've got a good chance of catching one on Monday night and had already been planning to go out then.
@mark I wonder if icy crystalline snow would reflect an aurora ... I'm not going to be the one to find out though (unless I can find a photo already online!)
@screwtape What to what? There's been a substorm resulting in some amazing aurora photos over the last day or so. I was too lazy to go out though. However, the forecast for this Monday is very good. While far from perfect, a forecast is possible because coronal holes develop slowly and the sun faces the same way every 27 days. So if conditions were favourable 27 days ago then they're likely to be favourable again now (as long as there's no moon in the sky).
