Want to organize an event and missing Facebook events?

https://gath.io/ is doing that on the Fediverse. You don’t even need an account to create/manage or participate in an event. Clicking on the link is enough.

And every single data about the event is deleted one week after.

But if it is not enough for you, you can also try the federated Mobilizon.

@ploum " easy way to make and share events which respects your privacy. "
Heuhmmm …
With Google everywhere :

  • Add to Google Calendar
  • Show on Google Maps

@bazil cc @ploum
This way you can also make it usable for your friends who have no idea what ICS and OSM are.

@ploum This looks pretty awesome for usergroups. Will need to investigate whether it makes sense to host an instance for -usergroups....

Woukd that be of interest for people?

And should that then be under the @phpc umbrella?

@heiglandreas @ploum @phpc PHPc.events or something like that? Let all UGs and conferences feed into that?

I'd be down. Not sure which tool is more appropriate.

@Crell @heiglandreas @ploum Hey! PHPC owns phpc.events! I would be down with that, too!

Thanks for this discovery @ploum

I keep using Facebook events with my friends, but recently I found it more difficult to reach everyone I know. I thought I'd just fall back to texting, but I might as well send a link to this external event page.

Have you (or anyone) tried it ? Is there a sort of event feed for posting updates to the attendees ?

@ploum

@remidu @ploum just tested, see and play with the link if you want.. All updates are posted as comments (that tells there was an update, not what changed ;-))

@Gilou Aaah super c'est ce à quoi je pensais ! J'essaierai à l'occasion dans ce cas, merci !
