Just saw a job posting for a network admin who doubles as a licensed plumber. Someone needs to explain this to me.

For the network job: Additional Information Applicant must be a Delaware Licensed plumber

@nixCraft Sewer SCADA?

@nixCraft futureproof

Laserscope,

@nixCraft best guess is they have enough regulations around running conduit that the plumbing license is what (poorly) covers the laws.

@nixCraft Every job application should do this when applicable.

It's just basic shorthand letting you know you'll be up to your knees in crap.

@nixCraft would not be surprised if the job involves connecting things in hard to reach places, perhaps even inside waterlines or sewers, since cables are often quite literally plumbed through hard to reach places

but it's hard to say, from the outside it just kinda looks like an unreasonable demand, but maybe it pays extremely well to compensate? 😅

@nixCraft A friend of mine used to have 'Network Proctologist' on his cards.

mrcarrot,

@nixCraft this could have something to do with routing cables through conduits and what licenses are required in the jurisdiction to do that kind of work. Not saying it makes sense, but that could be why.

@nixCraft Now you know where the cables are going ...
