A newly-arrived couple stopped us to ask where the Japanese restaurant was. Somehow this led on to the woman telling us everything about her life. She talked for a full five minutes, telling us that she has two houses, one on the Jersey Shore and one inland, the square footage of her houses, the big names she lives near (Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and Queen Latifah), how many children and grandchildren she has, their allergies, all the places in the world she has visited, the age, health and breed of her dog, where she plans to go once her elderly dog finally dies… It was like being hit over the head with a frying pan
