We just got notice from one tactical armed Saanich PD to stay inside our house & away from windows. I'm trying to peek up windows but see nothing except for tactical armed men, running down our road & saw 3 jumping over a neighbour's fence. We still have no idea WTF us happening!

I came driving into my small town one night to find a county sheriff standing in the middle of the street with AR at low ready. A few other cops were in a nearby parking lot. Refusing to be intimidated, I just pulled up next to him, rolled my window down and asked, "what's the problem?"
He wouldn't give me an answer and I was tired so I gave up. Turns out a local meth enthusiast had been violating his parole conditions by being in the bar and was trying to escape by jumping into the river. He's not a good guy, but he's never been violent, so what made the AR necessary?
@TheGreatLlama This was apparently a marijuana related parole violation & person was a tenant at house on corner. I'd never seen him before - small built guy. I think it could've been handled with much less dramatics/freaking neighbourhood out. 2 undercover cars & 4 cops would have more than sufficed.
Very hypervigilant atm. That whole day long cops in the hood really upset me. We still don't know WTF happened but after over 12 hrs of cops circling & parking in front of nearby homes & then seeing tactical unit deployed - freaked us out. We saw one person 3 houses down getting arrested. Maybe we will find out WTF happened in our neighborhood tomorrow? We should be informed.
The last time we ever witnessed anything close to this happen was several years ago & it was an elderly murder - suicide tragedy. We had armed police tactical units jumping all over our yards at that time & it was freaky as heck. This time, more freaky because it's at night & we weren't told what was happening. We knew what was happening the last time. There wasn't a need for tactical units then.
I don't think it was needed tonight either but I don't know what happened yet.
Hate it when that stuff happens. Rarely find out why. I guess I should be looking up scanners or something, with the amount of helicopters and whatnot we get around here.
