@daringfireball Seems needlessly complex as written out, BUT I do like that the upshot matches exactly how I like to manage power:

🟢 Green light ALWAYS means I have no reason to be plugged in (whether I already am or not).

🟠 Orange light ALWAYS means I do want to be plugged in (whether I already am or not.)

It works because when I plug in, I generally would like to leave it until fully charged. And when I choose to roam free, I often prefer not to stay unplugged too much below 50%.

Green must be fine, right?
Yellow is probably dire but sometimes fine?
Flashing yellow has GOT to be bad.

Green means “OK don’t worry”.

Amber means “working on in”.

Looks fine to me. (Reference the MagSafe battery pack)

@daringfireball @gruber My motorcycle communicator (Sena 20S EVO) uses a single LED to display varying battery percentages based on the number of times it flashes.

From the manual:

When the headset is powering on, the red LED flashes rapidly indicating the battery level.
4 flashes = High, 70100%
3 flashes = Medium, 3070%
2 flashes = Low, 0~30%
