Well, that's cool. Today my work Mac, OS 10.14, won't play media.

Tried all the usual. Now reinstalling the OS.

OMG. After all that.
My audio interface was the problem. Movies weren't playing because of the audio.

Power cycled it, checked the connections, everything works.
