If a woman says she is done having a conversation with you she is:
not upset
actually just done talking to you
Being upset and being done having a conversation are actually two DIFFERENT things (wild, I know). Sometimes we just get done, you didn't hurt our fee-fees, we aren't crying in our cereal or on some hormonal rampage. We're just done.
You should NOT attempt to continue the conversation about her feelings.
@MsHearthWitch Agreed. Maybe for the people that have trouble getting this, it works just as well to say that if a person of any gender wants to be done with a conversation, honor that. But some men have a particular problem getting this when they are trying to chat up a woman.
@not2b Yeah, specifically this post was spurred by a man thinking that I was upset just because I didn't want to continue a conversation.
Sometimes the conversation is just over. Neither side has interest in learning more or changing their mind. I run out of spoons to continue. So in an effort to be polite I state, plainly, that I am done with the convo.
It struck me as bizarre that he assumed I was upset, and I personally feel that's a very gendered response.
