Having fun with a project that uses USB cameras. Doing some DIY HDR to deal with uneven lighting. I learned that:

A) If your webcam is a standard UVC (USB video class) cam, it may expose params that you can change (exposure, white balance, focus etc). Even the really cheap ones!

B) (of course) there's an imagemagick command to average a bunch of shots into one.

I wrote a script to set the exposure to three different settings, taking a photo after each. Look at the lamp, mantle and cabinet.

@gvy_dvpont This is called exposure bracketing! Some high-end cameras do it automatically.

Not my phone, though. Sigh...

@Craigp yeah! My pixel does it (along with a bunch of other crazy stuff) and often I wish it would dial it back. Nice to do it manually!
