I have every hope for a electoral defeat of the modern Republicans and their fascist, misogenist, racist, dictatorial and antiprogressive agendas.
However, as I look at how how many people exist across the country who support that pov, I am deeply heartsick and anxious with concern. It is grievous to witness that even in just midterm elections, that people vote affirmatively for the demise of their own freedoms and well being via right wing extreme politicians.
The SCOTUS recent behaviors have added to the great ache and fear of what may be a crushing loss of what I always counted on in USA; which is the "justice for all" ideal and yes, it's an ideal, but I hold onto it, I seek to live by it.
Part of me is preparing for loss. I look to history and look for, "how did people get through authoritarianism" How did people resist when freedom was lost? How did women terminate pregnancy before legal abortion?
Are we in "Don't know what you've got till it's gone" territory? Replies appreciated
