Starmer knows Brexit is awful. He fought it tooth & nail. He also knows it can't be undone. Ergo, he can't raise totally unrealistic expectations. That would be very stupid. If he gave even a hint about trying to rejoin, absolute numpties would be demanding instant action. It could take 20 years to rejoin.
