@spitfire No plans to expose the server to the Internet. I just wanted to add TLS to the server.

Cloudflare is my provider which made the Let’s Encrypt add on really easy to use.

@spitfire I don’t want to access it remotely. I just thought Home Assistant must support Let’s Encrypt and surely it is easy. Let’s give it ago 😀.

I am looking at linking my Mum’s to mine via remote-HomeAssistant and I thought both ends having SSL would be good.

@bazcurtis Looked at this video, and I still don’t understand what channel are they communicating over. Cause they have to see each other somehow. If they’re not on the same local network I’d imagine you’re exposing one (or both) to the internet, or connected them with VPN (i.e. Tailscale, Wireguard, OpenVPN).
