A young friend shared the "intolerance paradox vs. tolerance as social contract" meme with me only a few hours ago, asking my opinion.
Went off on how it relies on equivocation to take moral high-ground against a straw man only legible via such equivocation, including in my response a reference to "social contract" concept as a hobgoblin of liberal thought.
(Even despite my heavily leaning into said concept in lumpentheory, albeit as an indictment.)
