I don’t understand the immigrants who are like i had a hard time with immigration so no immigrants should be more welcome, let’s close all the borders and put everyone on the streets in the cold
I don’t either. I had a wild time with that paper work for years and it was straightforward compared to what happened to others…not to forget friends of mine who still cannot get a green card and who are at the mercy of their employers.
And the weird examples I’m thinking of are all people for whom the bureaucracy has a path at least. I can’t imagine how hard it is for those who don’t have that.
@skinnylatte they believe the american dream that they pulled themselves by their own bootstraps, but don’t realize how much help they actually had. the american dream is about neigbors helping neighbors. it’s so hard to talk to my extended family who forgets that. it’s the cult of machismo.
