@nixCraft Office I guess, in a stalker kind of way. Saw her on TV, got a job at her station, asked her out, proposed on first date, married 4 months later. 42 years ago yesterday! 😁
@nixCraft She studied at the college where I worked. I was too shy to talk, though. So, I never knew her name, and she didn't know mine.
It took five years before I approached her in a nightclub (Pantiles, Camberley, now knocked down and is an old people's home - appropriate), and we chatted for a while.
I asked, "What are the chances, if I ask, that I can get your number?" She replied, "Quite high." So I asked, she gave it, and the barman loaned me a pen. Then she left shortly after...
@nixCraft .. I left it the "Industry Standard Two Days" before calling her, as I didn't want to seem too keen (despite being quite keen).
She picked up and said, "Who?". Good start. She had told her mum the day before, "If someone called Alan calls, I don't live here". She never usually gave out her number and was worried.
Thankfully, I gave it two days, and she picked up. That was October 1997. Been married since August 2000.
