As the weather gets nicer I'm thinking about getting out on the again.
I'd like to log my paddles, in the past I used my banglejs to record GPS position but it's not working anymore.
There are many cheap GPS trackers available but they all seem to use a sim card to report location on demand, where I want to log to SD or something and get the data out later.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

APRS will be a future project!

@M0YNG You need to speak to @revk

@M0YNG Specifically, have a look at this: https://github.com/revk/ESP32-GPS

@edavies @M0YNG @mw1cgg designed for exactly this sort of thing, but not inherently waterproof. Easy enough to put in waterproof plastic box I expect.

And we have boards ready made for sale if you want.

@revk @edavies @mw1cgg ah, yes, looks ideal. Could 3d print a case to give some splash protection...

@M0YNG @edavies @mw1cgg a 3D case is not likely to help a lot with water. I would recommend a good coating of acrylic spray at least (being very careful of connectors). That or a small screw down plastic case - but charging connector may be fun. There is an order page on https://www.aa.net.uk/etc/circuit-boards/gps/ if you want to buy from us, but the code is also all open source.
