@patrickworld 😅 Do it!! Which model were you dreaming about? I’ve got the Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster, which is really tight but its pickups and bridge are not traditional vintage style. Still sounds and plays great, though.
@NigelTufnel Oh man, I really like the Mascis. It’s actually a trade I was considering for a Troy Van L model. I don’t think I’m gonna do it. What I really want is a Duo Sonic 😅
@patrickworld@NigelTufnel have you ever played a 24” scale before? I owned a Duo Sonic HS for a few months, but I just found the fret spacing way too cramped, especially above the 12th fret.
If (lol, when) I get another guitar, it’ll probably be a Jazzmaster or Doheny

@patrickworld@NigelTufnel@RyanHyde can I ask what tone you like to listen to and play? I think duo sonic would thrive for ambient. Mustang is great for indie rock or adjacent. Duo sonic might handle chillhop well. Gibson Sg is also short scale and would have a fat rock or Jazz tone. I’m nerding out. I want to see you matched up to your dream companion :blobaww:
@ambergrey@patrickworld@NigelTufnel@RyanHyde I love my DuoSonic, very versatile pickup pairing, I have smaller hands and arthritis so the short scale works well for me. It’s a fine general purpose guitar.
I ended up trading mine for this. Bought the Duo Sonic off a guy in Maine when I was on vacation for $380. The Rivolta Mondata here retailed for $1,000, so ultimately I was very happy with the outcome!
