@derthomas@yourfutureex Oppenheimer was great BUT I completely agree it should have been about 40 minutes less - 2:20 would have been perfect and it would have been a 10/10. Not a fan of this insane length Trend.

I don't mind long movies, but there are good long movies, good movies that are too long and bad long movies.
Once Upon A Time In The West is a good long movie, The Irishman is a good movie that is too long. @yourfutureex
@tjc I concur! (Edit: actually I meant I disagree 😂) All Sergio Leone movies deserve the length they have. Of course you could argue that you could shorten the opening scene of Once Upon A Time In The West, which is basically 15 minutes where you can watch outlaws waiting for a train, including a 5 minute closeup of the face of a guy who gets annoyed by a fly. But that would literally ruin the movie.
It is not a second too long!
@derthomas@yourfutureex I wonder if there’s an actual human study of attention spans and whether there’s an optimal length for a movie, before people start losing details and whatnot. There has to be studies on this.
