Whether I see auras, you ask?

Yes, I love seeing auras!

Truly one of 3M's best products.

@larsmb .. which reminds me that I want to figure out if, and which variant of 3M 6000 series "Half Facepiece Respirators" I might want to try. I'm considering exploring those for longer transit times.

If you have experience with those, I'd love to hear any input and thoughts (also from anyone else, of course)!

looks like a good entry point. The bottom part of the page has some pointers for this respirator range, if anyone wonders what I'm talking about.

I also read everywhere that the elastomeric respirators are more comfortable, breathable, etc than normal FFP masks.
But for me, at least with 3M 6035 filters, they are less comfortable and breathable than the 3M Aura 9320 (which are to be fair only FFP2 and not P3). Maybe I have to test the pancake 2135 filter or a P2 filter.
The exhalation valve is quite nice, since its cooler and less moisture inside the mask, however nothing completely unique to elastomeric respirators.

Another advantage of elastomeric respirators is, that you can do a good negative pressure fit check every time you put it on. Especially with the 60(2|3)5 series filter, since squeezing the case creates a airtight seal. With the 2135 I can't seal them completely with my thumb.

Speaking with a elastomeric is also way more difficult, since its more rigid and the speech is very muffled (however there are respirators with a speaking membrane, but I have no experience with them).

@hko @larsmb Also you look way stranger compared to a FFP2 mask.

My experience is compared to Aura 9320D+, which are one of, if not even the best FFP2 mask on the market.

When you want to try one, I would recommend the 7500 series with real silicone. They are more expensive, but I find mine more comfortable than the 6000 series I have (which is also maybe a size to small) and if you are going to use them frequently, its imho worth it.

@graviton @hko Very useful! I'm a big Aura fan myself though I use the FFP3 variant. For FFP2, I'm using the slightly less dystopian looking Nanovio.
For travel, I'm nowadays going with this:
