I think my older AirPods v2 are dying. I can barely get any volume out of them any more. When I use my AirPod pros I can hear them loud and clear but I don’t like them as much, they never stay in my ears.

Hate to spend rhe money on a new fresh set of AirPods (non Pros) but i can barely hear what I’m listening to anymore. Boo! 🫠

@gedeonm Comply Foam tips for my pros changed the game for staying in my ears.

A huge thank you to those that wrote about my AirPod volume problem and suggest cleaning with isopropyl and a brush. Totally did the trick, they now sound as good as new. Full and equal volume in both ears. Money (and stress) saved. THANK YOU!! 🙏 👍🖖

@gedeonm yeah I couldn’t think of a way of saying that without mentioning your earwax. (Other things can block that mesh too)

@gedeonm for your pros these could make them usable - for me it was just my left ear they wouldn’t stay in >_< With these I’ve never had a problem and my AirPods are my backups now (the dynamic volume stuff is amazing) https://a.co/d/3d5bKbQ

I used Comply and they worked very well too, but the foam masters are just better. Protip - get them in black so you don’t have to see the ear gunk stains over time 🤢

@shadowbottle Oh wow! I will defiantly try them. Anything that helps me not feel like I wasted my money buying the pros (which I never use) would be great. I assume I should go with the medium size? Black is a good tip, that way they also won’t me confused with my other AirPods.

@gedeonm they have a sampler with all three sizes - I did wind up going with mediums though, yeah.

@gedeonm getting them looked at by Apple Support, either in the Support app, or at an Apple Store, is generally cheaper than buying new ones. I’ve had several sets of AirPods Pro replaced for free - without AppleCare+.

But try cleaning out the mesh with a toothbrush and some alcohol first.

@moof Okay will do! Thank you!

@moof Yep! That totally did the trick! THANK YOU!

@gedeonm if you’re still covered by AppleCare+ it’s worth calling to see if you can get them fixed or a replacement. Worked for me when I had an issue with my AirPod pro v1…

@gedeonm a soft toothbrush and some isopropyl worked wonders on mine. Those mesh screens get clogged with ear gunk.

@awilbert Yep! That totally did the trick. They sound brand new again. thank you!
