We can't keep our politicians and our own government under control because.. checking notes
Oh yeah we let a handful of people buy off politicians who then armed people with guns to take our money to buy more guns for those people so they could oppress us..
That's how "public" policing got founded in America, kids.
They're stealing your money (your labor and existence) at gunpoint to oppress you. That's what taxes without representation are. That's what the standing army on our streets is for.
It's to steal from you, and to make sure you don't organize against the ringleaders.
If there wasn't a standing army with a surveillance network, rifles, grenade launchers, body armor, and armored vehicles on our streets, do you think the politicians would feel comfortable ignoring protests?
What say do you have in the spending of the tax money taken from you when you can't even state your dissent without being arrested by a standing army in the streets of your own town?
I think Americans are unwilling to admit they've let both parties ('94 crime bill anyone?) turn the police into not just a violent force of oppression, but an actual standing army, a real military in our own streets, and it's being used against them.
