so the point of the movie is just "free your mind" but in also the classic 1970s scifi way there is no sense of "you also have to rebuild all of society when you do that" it's just like "blam look at this old man all problems are over" #monsterdon
they had no mythology about why they were reliquidating themselves when they turned 30? they just did it because the computer said so and never bothered to create a myth about it? that is the least believable part of the movie bc people would have made up some shit to explain that in like the first day #monsterdon
@jonny@brooke the essay I posted last night posits the excellent theory that the Old Man's cat friends are the people renewed on Carrousel but surely there must be more elaborate fic than this
@jonny was it the #Monsterdon with the Air Force Fighting that mysterious giant client thing? I think involved the military they during a lot of coffee
