Now that I need to be Perceived again I am realizing that I havent gotten any new (to me) clothes in like 3 years and they are all looking p shabby. The area I am in doesnt have any real thrift stores, just "used boutiques" or whatever. Are there any somewhat-close-to-ethical used clothes platforms online?

My neighbors are having an argument where one of them keeps saying "Alexa, play Mozart" and the other is saying "you cant just say play Mozart, you have to be more specific" and the other person just keeps going "ALEXA, no DONT ASK ME... play MOZART. Base masto is so bad at handling longposts that I'm convinced that's why most people think that the fedi is bad at longform content.

Did you know that the notifications pane just uses literally exactly the same React component as statuses displayed in feeds? so if someone interacts with a long-ish post, then every interaction can take up a full page of your notifs feed.

Even glitch mostly fixes this, all y'all on dot social and base masto need to get on forks.

Here's one like on a tall pic:

I posted a 1px wide, 10,000px tall image and then liked it from another account. it takes up like 1000 screen heights worth of space in my notifications because the masto default status component doesn't collapse images like an overlay, just truncates the text.

glitch fixes this because it collapses posts larger than a certain (adjustable) vertical height with an overlay container, rather than masto's approach which is truncate text, but otherwise display the full post and image, and expand all when opening in the full view. glitch also has basic markdown.

with some user-custom CSS you have mostly a blog. with one additional step of allowing custom (sanitized on federation) jinja-ish HTML templates then you get just a literal blog.

like the bones of masto are pretty brittle but if all you've ever seen is base masto i get why you would be pessimistic about the fedi. touching it even a little though shows how skin deep those problems are. and that's not even talking about coming from the other way and writing a whole new client, i'm literally saying even though masto is a little crispy you can start with it and make it work way better in like a day or two.

how come na na na re is not an important meme in the reaction taxon.

An Indian man performs on a lush, soft-lit, and multicolor Bollywood set. the camera starts behind him as he dance-shuffles towards the audience waving his arms waving from fully open at shoulder height to crossed in front of him, with his index finger extended, wagging "na na na na na" in a gesture of disapproval. background dancers and backup musicians dance and filter past throughout the shot. The camera then shifts to the audience's perspective, as he dance-shuffles towards us, continuing the "na na na na" finger wagging dance. he has a knowing smile, as if you should know already that what you are doing is deserving of a "na na na" gesture. The audience is packed and loving it, they clearly also agree with the surrounding lyrics that would lead someone to do the "na na na" gesture.
