As the electorate across Britain abandons the party, it seems a strange -- even perverse -- time for the to rebrand itself as the Scottish Conservative party.

@simon_brooke independence voting tories already have a party, and that party doesn't know how to pronounce the name of the country they live in (which is very on brand for tories)

@otfrom @simon_brooke Alba, economically at least, are to the left of the SNP. Some would say far to their left i.e. they would seek the nationalisation of all transport services including bus, port and airports. It's a strange Tory that would vote for that!

@jbenjamint @otfrom populist parties which take some policies from the left and others from the far right are not new in history, alas.

@otfrom Aye. And they get 1.6% of the vote. So competing for their electors does not seem like a winning political strategy.
