These guys again. Though the policymakers of the federal judiciary are trying to stop judge-shopping, indicted Texas AG Ken Paxton and right-wing Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk will ignore that in order to make sure LGBTQ+ people aren't protected.

Paxton wants to stop Title IX protections from covering students based on gender identity and not just biological sex.

Ken Paxton shouldn't get to pick a judge guaranteed to issue an injunction that will apply to the whole USA.

@MariaHill Since my mood is Level 10 cranky, I’ll point out to the readers that Matthew Kacsmaryk was nominated to his position by Donald Trump in 2017 and sworn in for the position in 2019.

Hillary Clinton would not have picked him.

@TonyStark Anyone thinking about not voting for Biden for whatever reason should keep in mind that it's a binary choice about who will decide whether LGBTQ+ people and women/trans/non-binary people get to make decisions about our bodies or whether judges like Kacsmaryk do. And whether Trump names Kacsmaryk or someone just like him to SCOTUS if there's a seat in the next four years or if Biden does.

Also, whether a Republican or Democratic senate confirms those judges & fed appointees.

@MariaHill @TonyStark it still kills me knowing many didn’t vote for Hillary to “send a message”.

They own a big part of the mess we now have

@gfidk @MariaHill They do. I’m mutual followers with a guy that admittedly voted for Nader over Gore here but he was talking to me about it the other day. He made an error (his words) and that I can’t be mad at. It’s the people who keep defending their bad votes or non-votes and refuse to try and team up to make things better that I can’t stand.

@MariaHill I’m noticing there’s a number of people just coming out and saying they don’t care about those issues. Perhaps they never did.

I have found, however, a number of ex-GOP voters or middle-of-the-road lapsed voters who do care about these things. And we can motivate them.

And, by the way, while I’m correcting logical fallacies, that’s not Democrats moving to the right to work with others. That’s Democrats moving those others over to vote progressively.
