Is there a backpack brand that people don't regret buying? My current backpack is falling apart and I need a new everyday bag (laptop, camera, battery, occasionally some shopping), and it seems hard to say that any of the popular brands care about making bags that last more than a year or two?

@maxine Timbuk2 is what I'd recommend since I got one from work 6 years ago. It's still like new.

@maxine after 20 years of this I have come to the conclusion that daily driver backpacks are like shoes and they will give eventually. That said, Jack Wolfskin made great ones in the 90s that took all the abuse and lasted 10 years. Alas no more.

@janl "alas, no more" is the unofficial slogan of far too many brands

@maxine yeah, I have tshirts from the late 2000s that have outlasted multiple generations of their “successors” :/
