How to know your DVD player is too old:

  1. All the DVDs are playing in sepia tone. (Not kidding.)
  2. You still own a DVD player.

I have to say, I don't even remember how old this thing was, but the Mrs felt kind of judged when she wanted to watch her Pride and Prejudice tonight.

@obvioustroll we have a dvd player, invested too much in disks back in the day. And not everything is available for streaming.

@Stacky We do have a lot of DVDs, although most are kid-oriented.

I solved the problem by pulling the DVD player (which, I discovered, still used component video, not HDMI) and replaced it by hooking up the playstation that's been in the basement for a year now.
