The code reading I've been doing these past couple of weeks would have broken earlier versions of me, even as recently as a few months ago.

The code is far from the worst I've seen. About what you'd expect of even its brief history. Past me would have struggled, questioning that history mercilessly.

I've achieved enough equanimity that my mind now ruminates more on my actual job: what to do with my findings. My challenge right now is holding to beginner's mind, to keep options open.

Past me also more likely would race to a snap judgment which inevitably would cause me to miss something critical. At best I'd have to backtrack, at worst throw away code and start over.

I'm enjoying both my stronger sense of equanimity and more time than I've enjoyed recently to really learn and understand before doing anything else.
