Just sitting here thinking how so many places here still bear their (degenerated) Roman names... Mogontiacum (Mainz), Bonna (Bonn), Bingium (Bingen), Colonia ... Agrippina (Köln(Cologne)), etm.

The Rhenus (Rhine) and Menus (Main, pronounced "mine") rivers.

Not Frankfurt, tho. That was Civitas Nidda, which is now incorporated within Frankfurt.

The name Frankfurt (literally "Ford of the Franks," a shallow spot in the Menus where one can cross on horseback) came forth ca 500's-700's
