The guy got into office COMMITTING CRIMES and has NEVER STOPPED COMMITTING THEM and he somehow HAS PAID NO PRICE.

@StillIRise1963 THIS IS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM!!!

@StillIRise1963 I can't be the only one out here thinking that if this guy can get away with overflowing truckloads of stupid venal crimes while being broadcast on national television, that I could maybe get away with copyright infringement by using a VPN.

If there is anyone above the law, anyone else could be. Some of those people are going to try, instead of participating usefully in cooperative civilization. This is why a corrupt justice system screws all of us who rely on trust to exist.

@StillIRise1963 Well, the $90 million to EJ Carroll, but it's crappy that none of the court cases mean anything to the Deplorables.

I am angry that he didn't have to stand in front of a height scale for his mug shot and was allowed to lie about his height and weight. ;)

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@CStamp Yeah, but the $90M isn’t painful. I’m sure someone will pick up that tab. And, me too! Not one part of his process has been like any normal person. It enrages me.

@StillIRise1963
Why won't the IRS take this mother fucker down already? It's ridiculous.

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@lin11c Something is very wrong for all these things to NOT be happening all these years later.

lin11c,
@lin11c@toad.social avatar

@StillIRise1963
The excuse of "the wheels of justice turn slowly" is utter bullcrap. Other democratic countries do not have this problem. It was an INSURRECTION! Indict the funders and plotters and politicians. JFC.

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@lin11c Exactly. 8 fucking years. Right.

mzedp,
@mzedp@mas.to avatar

@StillIRise1963 Not only paid no price but literally has the supreme court debating if he should be above the law. Insane.

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@mzedp It’s all totally insane. They’re opining on insanity and acting like it makes sense to gaslight rule changes.

virtualbri,

@StillIRise1963 A great deal of our system is based on assuming people will do the right thing, and we’re especially seeing how that doesn’t work right now (if it ever did.)

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@virtualbri I think they did this to leave room for their own crimes to not be crimes.

CStamp,
@CStamp@mastodon.social avatar

@virtualbri @StillIRise1963 The founding fathers left a lot dependent on common decency.

StillIRise1963,
@StillIRise1963@mastodon.world avatar

@CStamp I’m not sure that was it. I think their class needed to keep it loose so they could do the things they wanted to do. I’m not sure they envisioned anyone not of their class and playing their games in the role of president or anything important.
