I'm reading Cal Newport's "Digital Minimalism", which argues for a digital detox, an intentional philosophy towards the technology that shapes us. And it's hard not to see why: to see everything going through a handful of websites, a handful of visual metaphors, a handful of affordances.
But I'm reading it and bristling. I got to experience the internet before it all went to shit. And I want to scream. This could all be good! It doesn't have to be bad!
