Quiet. Sometimes music, but that's rare.
Any loud noise will pull me out of my story, especially doors being slammed, kids screaming, sirens below my window.
Now that sounds like I live in a horrible place, which I don't. The Main Fire Station is just own the road, however. And I have hyper-awareness.
It's why I love writing early in the morning when the rest is still asleep.
