I still, over half a year after being locked out of and quitting Twitter, have people come up to cons and tell me they follow my Twitter. That has a message that I quit on it. Clearly not that close.
My content is all still here, as is my list and news feed. It’s just on Mastodon now.
@hacks4pancakes my Twitter account makes it clear in like 7 different ways I don't use it and I still keep getting accounts following me for whatever reason
@hacks4pancakes congratulations! I quit Twitter. It was way too toxic. It's much better here where even if you disagree you can be respectful and feel heard.
@hacks4pancakes i used to be able to read every tweet in my timeline (in the mornings i'd scroll back to cover what i missed overnight) but that was a long time ago. so that tweet is among the many i've either missed or forgotten about
I've got a pinned good-bye message and haven't posted in several months.
I am not locked out of my account, though, and have ducked back in to find old bookmarks. Each time, I see that someone has tried to start a conversation with me or DM'd me. I answer nothing.
