cassidy, I just saw someone unironically point to Vivaldi’s privacy policy as a counter-point to the proposed privacy-preserving metrics for Fedora.
Vivaldi generates a unique ID for you and sends it to their servers along with a geolocation derived from your IP, browser version, CPU architecture, screen resolution, and time since the last ping—every 24 hours.
For Fedora, aggregate metrics would be aggregated on-device, each data point disassociated from one another, and no unique ID generated.
