Did he also explain how slaves developed "recovery skills" from being separated from their children, whipped, raped, beaten to a pulp, and worked to death?

Via Acyn:

Watters: This is historical fact that slaves did develop skills while they were enslaved and then used those skills as blacksmiths, in agriculture, tailoring, in the shipping business, to benefit themselves and their families..

JJPeterson,

@GottaLaff or how reading and writing skills were forbidden to them by law?

@GottaLaff No discussion of skills acquired is honest or complete without noting that all but three slave states made it illegal to teach slaves to read and write -- the single most important skill ever.

@mbrailer I detest these fascist racists.

@GottaLaff @mbrailer did the skills be benefit the enslaved or allowed for greater profits for the enslavers?

@GottaLaff this gross fairy tale also needs to start with the false basic premise that the people forced into enslavement did not already know about agriculture, tailoring, metalsmithing, business and trade (yeah, they did, of course)

They are so racist, they can’t even imagine that the people they enslaved already had fully functioning , developed societies for eons before europeans stepped on their shores. 😡😡😡

@GottaLaff I think he's saying that these unskilled MAGA folks should be enslaved so they develop skills. Maybe they won't view immigrants as a threat to their jobs then?

@GottaLaff @lisamelton Did he also explain the skills Black people had before being enslaved and how their white masters depended on these skills.

Who do you think designed and built the rice paddies in South Caroline. Hint: they had experience doing the same in Libya.

@GottaLaff Watters and DeSantis both kidnapped, beaten, and forced into hard labor for the rest of their lives, but by the time their grandchildren are forced to go through it as well, you know, the kids have learned farming skills.

    NovemberMan,

@GottaLaff this is disgusting. And damn DeSantis for trying to say it's ok.
