i wanna get an emulation handheld, thisll be my first. i was thinking of the retroid pocket 4 pro
my budger is about 200 usd and i was gonna get a uconsole but i cant deal with 90 buisness days to dispatch. i heard of the odin lite but the retroid seems better value for monies
how can i go about degoogling one of those? i want a gaming toy but i dont want it to be a privacy wreck. anyone can help?
@sleepybisexual if the chonk is OK, go for a used deck. 256g LCD versions are going for right around $200 and they're the gold standard for emulation.
The Emudeck rom manager software makes a huge difference.
Odin lite is pretty, has LTE if you throw a sim in it but the install base is so small that it's gonna be what it is and nothing else basically forever.
@sleepybisexual The pocket 4 is good, but in my mind the screen is too small. I'd still be rocking an Odin lite if I didn't go to the #rogally for the amazing screen.
In your price range I'd do the Odin lite if you just can't wait. The power difference between it and the pocket 4 in cpu/GPU power is HUGE tho. The d1100 is ~2.5x more powerful than the d900
If you go Odin lite you flat won't be able to do some PSP stuff, if you wait and go pocket 4 (or buy the Odin planning to sell it on)
@WagesOf uhh, for the p4 I was gonna get the p4 pro, the d110
is an Odin better than that? I was worried because there's like 6 Odin's and most are out of budget. and the ones I can afford have half the ram and storage
@sleepybisexual refreshing my memory by looking at the specs again it does seem like the pocket 4 will be a straight ripoff of the Odin lite and the other odin 1s are all within 10 to 15% in cpu power and have worse battery life.
The base Odin lite is the value pick and won't do anything that needs more ram than it has anyway.
I was thinking the d900 was the newest dimensity, so the power estimates I said were way off. The Odin lite should be within 15% of p4pro
