Ce que je disais quand je parlais d'un "rapport au monde à la #Daggerfall" dans #Starfield, c'est que oui, il y a 10000 lieux visitables (et interchangeables) mais on ne peut pas se balader entre deux de ces lieux. En fait, en réalité, c'est davantage un système à la #Arena, puisque dans Daggerfall on pouvait : c'est juste que ça n'avait aucun intérêt, du coup on utilisait le fast travel, comme dans Arena ou Starfield.
Je continue de fouiller dans ce disque dur que je pensais avoir grillé en 2010 et je retombe sur un doc de 720 000 signes (soit un bouquin de 300 pages environ) qui compile la campagne #roleplay qu'on avait faite, je crois, sur le forum #Daggerfall de Gilles Chagnon.
Ce soir le Projet French Daggerfall, qui a pour ambition de traduire intégralement la version vanilla de #Daggerfall, est officiellement arrêté. Lancé en février 2000 il traduit 98% du jeu d'origine, et vu la manière dont celui-ci est codé, on ne fera jamais mieux. Par ailleurs, son successeur, le PFDU pour #DaggerfallUnity, est lui bel et bien complété à 100%.
@mverbesselt C'était Bordeciel dès Morrowind en 2002 ! Perso j'ai toujours milité pour que le PFD ne tienne pas compte des traductions des jeux sortis ensuite, et qu'il fasse comme Redguard (le seul TES qui avait eu droit à une VF quand on s'est lancés) c'est à dire ne traduise pas les noms propres. Et ma position a tenu jusqu'au bout !
@mverbesselt Quant à la réception de Bordeciel, je me souviens que sur les forums d'Ubi j'avais ralé, dit assez énergiquement que c'était nul, au point que le traducteur était venu défendre son choix. Ça m'a appris à ne pas être trop désagréable sur Internet 😬
It's an important detail that is often left out of efficiency estimates. I'd love to see more side-by-side graphic comparisons of how various storage systems perform over time, both electricity and heat.
if #ESO did anything right it was redesigning Sotha Sil to be the true living embodiment of cool throughout all the realms; he was already cool before this but his visual update was truly inspired in ESO. if i was an elf god this is what i would look like. hats off to the concept artist who i cannot seem to find the name of.
@buru5 I could probably get through it by using Bound Weapons and armor myself in spells...It just sucks that they over tuned those buggers unnecessarily!
this map took #WayTooLong for me to finish, was lost when i was simply missing a stairwell on ten passes. i did learn how to use items and the map on an xpaddder controller though.
also, the dragon-fist-machine-gun-red-thing-with-spike-on-it looks nasty; hair, phallic, looks like some #InTerrorCourse stuff.
all this is making me want to do is play #Daggerfall again which i think i'll do #soon tm
@buru5 For all its fantastic qualities Heretic most definitely isn't an easy game. The level designs can be ridiculously twisty (even for a DOOM engine game,) and some of the traps make Sandy Petersen seem like a reasonable, well-intentioned human being.
I still love it, though, especially in a solid source port.
@GuerillaGrue in all honesty, my being-lost was due to #drinking and being-stupid; so far this game is a lot more manageable for me, drunk, than Hexen which confused me greatly when i played it a few years ago. both are beautiful games that i really really really really want to like; so far, i prefer Heretic's level design for it's Doom-ness.

Not really. The Voyager 2 images of Neptune were both contrast enhanced and colored a little too blue, differing from true color to bring out the details of the planet. Sorry to ruin your childhood.
Here is a re-colored version of the Voyager 2 images, using additional color data from #Hubble and #ESO's Very Large Telescope to get closer to the "true color".
Il y a ce moddeur québécois qui fait des choses folles pour #Daggerfall#Unity, c'est vraiment dommage qu'il ne soit pas sur Mastodon, Cliffworms, si tu me lis... En attendant, même sans jouer, j'adore regarder les merveilles d'architecture rétro que pondent les moddeurs DFU.
#Bethesda, which is creating #Starfield, is a #Microsoft studio. Microsoft and #Sony are separate companies with separate products and exclusives. They are currently at war.
@AAKL Reminds me of the bunch of Xbox fans that screamed about Spider-Man (PS4). There will be exclusives to both consoles (and Nintendo as well on that front). Some will eventually go multi platform and some will hit PC as well. But MS is not going to take one of their most anticipated exclusive titles that they haven’t had enough of and just hand it to Sony….good grief
