Consider this: If a large number of Mastodon/Fediverse instances block Threads.net not out of ideological 'purity’ (never a good test anyway) but rather out of true and obvious poor moderation, spam, sources of harassment, etc. Perhaps Threads joining the Fediverse will improve Threads through force of de-Federation?
There have been plenty of keystrokes committed to how powerful Threads is... but don't discount our power.
Good point. This isn’t really a test for the Fediverse. We’ve nothing to lose if this union doesn’t work. If Threads fails to meet Fedi standards however, that calls into question the quality of its “product”.

If Mastodon becomes thread-like, I will leave social media forever. I left Fbook long ago. I left Twitter last year. Zuck messes with everything humanity should be for his ego. Elon is a racist fascist nut case.
I am very disappointed with Mastodon voices.
