Because in war, the only goal is to remove the enemy by any means. Warcrimes mean nearly nothing if you remove the entire opposition. Victors write history books.

According to Reuters the IDF shot all three men through the head in their sleep simultaneously and did not try to arrest them. One of the men was hospitalized for three months because of an IDF drone strike.

Israel bombs hospitals to target Hamas terrorists. Everyone hates that because of the indirect casualties to civilian lives and direct damage to precious infrastructure.

Ah yes, the famous non-state loophole, where you can just shoot people in their hospital beds and it’s not a war crime. Just because someone is not part of a regular state military does not mean they have literally zero rights. Also dressing up as a doctor or nurse is a war crime. It’s simple; either this was a military action, in which case it was perfidy, which is a warcrime. Or it was a police action, in which case it was summary execution without due process, aka a Death Squad, which is a crime against humanity.
Further more, if this isn’t an occupation, then it is an unspeakably, unforgivably massive crime against humanity that the people living there have not had their citizenship recognized and their rights as such recognized; far worse than Apartheid. You can’t legally just take land and say “yeah, the land is ours, but the people living on it aren’t.”
In the context of war, perfidy is a form of deception in which one side promises to act in good faith with the intention of breaking that promise once the unsuspecting enemy is exposed.
