Had a relaxing weekend. Working on painting some of my #WarcraftRumble#3DPrints, played some #SeaOfStars and Warcraft Rumble. Reviewed my ToDo lists that I've been slacking on and now I'm going to read and catch some Z's.
Multi-material printing on the Bambu is incredibly wasteful, it turns out. Using a cheaper plain PLA as supports for PLA-CF. I didn’t think about how it needs to change filament every layer and how that’d mean another little bit of each filament in the “waste bucket” and another layer on the “waste tower.”
I’ll measure after but I think I’ll have used just as much waste filament as the mass of the print and the supports. #3dprinting
@chrishuck@linux_mclinuxface successfully completing any pc #3dprints outside an enclosure, even with slight warping, is better than anything I've been able to accomplish at home.
3D prints of a rare ankylosaur dinosaur osteoderm generated by Tom Hartman of the University of Nottingham. The original bone was recently discovered in the Oxford Clay and donated to the Nottingham Natural History Museum @GeorgeTheGorilla
I’ll be bringing these prints to #SVPCA2023 to help illustrate a lightning talk about the new fossil.
Batch completed! In case someone wants to see what the #RGB adapters look like in cases... 😅
The cases are #3dprints I designed. I used to buy generic plastic cases and spend time cutting and drilling them, now I push a button and the printer does the rest.
The warning label is to avoid mistakes: there are versions for Brazilian (Expert) and Japanese #MSX. The connector is the same, but the pinout is NOT. Using a JP adapter on a BR machine may FRY your monitor. It has happened before...
#TechnologyReview 📆 May 18, 2023 #NASA#DeepSpace#Food 🍽️ Challenge : By itself, the mycoprotein doesn’t taste of much “It’s very neutral, like umami or yeasty bread.” But further processing, including combining it with flavorings or spices, could yield a wide range of foods, such as burgers or nuggets. A module attached to the system #3Dprints the fungus 🍄 into the desired food style. “You can pick from a screen and eat a chicken 🍗 filet” https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/05/18/1073303/nasa-space-food-competition/
“The pre-packaged food that we use on the #ISS has a shelf life of a year and a half. We don’t have a food system at this point in time that can really handle a mission to #Mars 🔴”
