An #arrowhead made of #meteorite iron: around 1,500 BC, a meteorite struck #Estonia. A fragment of it arrived - presumably in the baggage of an amber trader - at what is now Lake Biel, #Switzerland. An arrowhead was then made there from the cosmic iron.
From Mörigen, 900-800 BC.
Now, a new analysis reveals that the object is no ordinary arrowhead — it was crafted from a #Meteorite that crashed to Earth #3500YearsAgo, according to a study published in the September issue of the Journal of Archaeological Science.
Talking of #northshore, might as well mention that they're about done with the little three-block missing bike link between Burke-Gilman and the West Sammamish River Bridge bike path, which heads south into #Arrowhead towards #Kirkland - pavement was down last time I was there and at least some of the signage. No paint yet, but it's supposed to be done pretty soon.
